An athletic career pays early, pays unevenly, and ends sooner than almost any other profession. The people who show up first are rarely the people who should. By the time an athlete has a reason to ask hard questions about a contract, a commission, or a signature, the money is usually already moving.
Wealth Beyond The Game closes that window at the front end. We teach athletes to read the paper they are signing, understand what they actually keep, and recognize the difference between someone selling them something and someone working for them. No products. No pitches in the room. Education only.
Athletes do not learn from a lecture hall, they learn from stations, reps, and coaching. We run the program the way a combine runs: timed rotations through practical stations, each led by a specialist, each ending with something the athlete leaves holding. A budget built on their actual numbers. A contract marked up in their own handwriting. A list of questions for the next person who calls.
An invitation only event reaches the athletes who already have access. That is the wrong population to help first. Our goal is a standing course inside high school and college athletic programs, delivered on the same footing as strength and conditioning or academic eligibility, so it reaches the walk on and the fifth string as reliably as it reaches the first round pick.
The curriculum
Draft outline for school adoption. Each module runs as a timed station and ends with a document the athlete keeps.
Gross versus net, withholding, estimated taxes, multi state filing, and what an athlete actually keeps from a number in a headline.
Reading an agency agreement, commission structures, term and termination, conflicts of interest, and which questions to ask before signing anything.
Budgeting against an income curve that rises fast and stops. Fixed costs, runway, and the arithmetic of a career that may last four years.
Credit scoring, debt that helps versus debt that follows you, insurance for an income that depends on a body, and protecting what has already been earned.
What equity means, how businesses actually make money, dilution, and how to evaluate the deal a friend of a friend is bringing to the locker room.
Family requests, advisors, fiduciary duty, and saying no. Ends with a written personal financial policy the athlete can hand to anyone who asks.
Wealth Beyond The Game is financial education delivered for informational purposes. 48 & Forward Foundation does not sell securities, is not a registered broker dealer, and does not provide investment advice. No product sales, solicitation, or recruiting of any kind is permitted in a session.
